We are going through very challenging times, both in Australia and world wide.
Freedoms and Human Rights are being challenged left, right and centre – medical ones, religious ones, rights to enter a country as a refugee, rights to live where we do due to another party’s prejudice. Also, the right to out a corporation if they are acting outside the public good, for example the maltreatment of animals and or the degradation of the environment.
It makes me quite sad to see how far the human race has come and that it is now losing its humanity due to some irrational as well as some rational fears and concerns.
We all need to live on this planet and no-one has the right to remove another person’s Human Rights because they do not like the decision. With respect to medical issues – science is an area that is constantly changing. We need to remain mindful of that and respectful that science does not have all the answers. It probably never will. We also need to be mindful of the (international) human right to choose a medical procedure and or a medical drug.
The media are not impartial and they certainly cherry pick the so-called “evidence” they present. They have vested interests – to make money! They do that by being controversial and or confrontational. And, yes, bloggers are also often out to make money. But many of us speak our minds about things we care passionately about.
