Water & Trees

A little while ago I posted about water and how community has the power to act to ensure finite resources are secure.

Trees are a major input in the survival of our natural world and our water supply. Logging activities destroy this relationship – many logging projects do not involve good enough stewardship to ensure adequate tree replacement.

Please plant lots of trees! They also help immensely with natural carbon absorption. Old growth forests have such a lot of carbon in them.

In Australia we have a very good program via Landcare Australia to help plant trees.

It is not sufficient though. Plant trees wherever there is a suitable spot – choose natives, indigenous and food bearing trees. Choose trees that birds and bees like.

Peace to all,

KISS for Life,

Miriam.
